As we all know water is an essential element of life, everyone needs it. Unfortunately in many countries water is scarce or contaminated. Some people are trying to raise money to help out the people in need for example the thirst project. The thirst project is an organization in America which the goal is to provide safe drinking water to communities around the world. The organization started with eight collage students, they started off with buying 1,000 water bottles and taking it to Hollywood Boulevard and began handing them out for free just to talk to people. In places like Central and Eastern European countries: Bulgaria, Check Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia clean water is much needed. But the thirst projects goal is to provide safe, clean water and sanitation to the entire nation of Swaziland in 2022. In these places the water the water is contaminated with parasites. When drinking this water many unpleasant things can happen to your body for example your stomach gets bloated, you can start to grow a 3-foot long worm that attaches to one of your limb and takes about one year for it to come out, and you may get blind because of the lack to was your face particularly your eyes. A way that we can help out is to at least fund raise one dollar; one dollar can make a huge change in someone’s life. A solution that the thirst project is doing is to build a water pump. A water pump costs up to $7,800 in Uganda to $20,000 in Kenya. I raised money by asking people to give me some spare change they had or any loose change i explained to them the cause of why i was asking for the money. I fell that that this small donation can make a big difference in someone's life because that is one dollar more to raise the money for the water pumps. I haven't personally experienced lack of clean water but i have witnessed it. When i went to a vacation trip to Guatemala i went to a small city there we saw people drinking dirty water. We decide to get the water bottles from the car and try to give the people water. In Swaziland kids and women travel about 3.75 miles going to get water and walking back for a women and a little kid that is too far and the water they carry isn't that light. The kids aren't even going to school because of they need to be carrying water walking back and forth.
